Topping Plain Creek

Stargazing on a moonless night up at the edge of the tree line. Although the track might be epic for mountain bikes, it is a little less extreme when walking:

Plan is to park at the base of Carters Road and walk in the last half of the mountain bike trail, return via same or Plain Creek track. Daily distances are 15-16km and 1000m+ of elevation gain on the first day.

There is likely to be enough snow to need snowshoes at the highest elevations which can be hired from the club. Tree cover over the whole trip limits exposure but snow camping equipment will still be necessary for safety. Transport costs around $30 in addition to food and any gear hire.
