Trip of freakin’ Disappointment

I'm confident this will be the most Disappointing trip ever of MUMC, living up to the name of where we are heading:

• Our destination is Mount Disappointment!
• We will walk on 4WD trails and potentially share the path with 4WD, cyclists and rifle shooters!
• No special sceneries for your Insta stories, only an obnoxious name that you can check in at the end of the day.
• 34km of walk in a day, 17km of continuously going up!
• We are going by train, not your fancy Holden Commodore!

While I feel like no one's gonna care about going to such a trip like this, I will still talk more about the trip, since I still know that there are still some MUMC members out there who love some suffering.

• Length: 34km
• Elevation: 772m (most to all of them are on the 1st half)
• Cost: $10.6 of your myki money. You will potentially get $5.3 back thanks to MUMC's Human powered grant.

Here's the schedule:

• 8am: Meet at Southern Cross Station, at Woolies (corner of Spencer St/Collins St)
• 8:14-9:14am: Hop on the Seymour train, coming down at Heathcote Junction.
• 9:30am: Start the hike towards Mt Disappointment (17km of continuous but light climbing uphill - expected to take 4-5 hours)
• Around 1-2:30pm: Have lunch on the top of Mt Disappointment or Blair's Hut.
• Around 3pm: Start to hike down to Wandong station (same route most of the way).
• 6:45pm: Hopefully we can catch that train in time back to Melbourne. Otherwise next train is 8:22pm.

What to note:

• Bring plenty of water (2-3L is a safe choice) and electrolytes to prepare for the uphill.
• Stay close together. This track is known to have a lot of routes, and you can get lost easily.

After Tuesday trip meeting to confirm who's going, I will hand out my contact details. If you cannot make it on Tuesday but still wanna go on Wednesday, just shoot me an email.

Also, don’t worry if you are in the waitlist. Most ‘committed’ usually evaporates at a half-life time of 2-4 days.
