The 4 week come and try beginner season has been postponed to a May 8 start. Please contact me via the messenger link below if you have any queries.

The Victorian Youth Polo Academy (VYPA) are excited to announce its partnership with the Brunswick Baths for 2024 and onward to host their club in the pool complex and offer canoe polo and kayaking opportunities for anyone interested.

Canoe Polo is an exciting and challenging team sport that combines the fun and dynamic aspects of water polo and basketball with a whole-body workout in kayaks. Try out the sport in a warm and clean swimming pool. All equipment is provided you just need to bring bathers and a towel to join in. All ages, abilities and skill levels are welcome. Prior experience in kayaking is not required.

This four-week 'come and try' season is the perfect way for new people to try out the sport for a couple of sessions and see what they think. It would also be a great way for people who haven't played for a while to brush off the cobwebs and get back in a boat.

Over the 4 weeks we'll go over safety, learn basic boat control, wet exits and T rescues interspersed with games, ultimately building towards playing your first canoe polo match!

This trip includes gear hire and insurance for 4 weekly sessions starting Wednesday, April 10 at a cost of $70. If you do not already have an online account with Paddle Australia, you will need to create one for free to register. Additionally, for those who do not have a Paddle Australia membership, there will be an additional charge automatically applied to cover insurance for the 4 weeks.

For anyone interested in pursuing canoe polo more frequently, a paddle Australia membership is definitely worth while so you don’t end up paying heaps of one-off event fees. If you’re just testing the waters *pun intended* no stress to grab one.

Proceeding the come and try sessions there will be a 6-week beginner competition season starting from the 8th of May, and a 12-week intermediate and advanced season later on June 19th. I'll put these trips up closer to their start dates.

Please contact me if you have any queries or concerns. You can email me on the canoe polo deputy email or pm me on messenger https://m.me/nathan.daniel.7330/. I've also scheduled a meeting on April 2nd to help anyone with last minute sign ups and/or questions.

**NOTE - This is an externally run event**
