Hey everyone,

There will be a PUBGAINE! in Fitzroy on THURSDAY 2ND MAY. If anyone is unsure what one is: it’s a mixture between a pub-crawl and rogaine, making for a fun night!

Teams of 3-5 race around to collect points with the aid of map and compass. 

The rules are simple. Each team is given a map with a list of locations (mostly pubs) marked on it. Each location is worth a designated number of points based roughly on the difficulty of reaching it and the challenge inside of it.  You are allowed to move by foot, or on public transport, but no cars, taxi’s, bicycles or scooters. The team must remain together at all times, no splitting off to try and get more done!

The PUBGAINE! itself will begin at 6p.m from THE CLUBROOMS. Maps and challenges will be handed/sent out as soon as 3 or more team members are there. After completing as many challenges as you can (or want to do), all teams must be back at THE CLYDE HOTEL no later than 9pm, and a 15-point penalty per minute late will given (this will be strictly enforced). We will then tally the scores and laugh at the photos. If you can't make it for the 6pm start, just let me know and you can join your team out on the course as long as you've registered.

The entry fee will be $5 per person, this will go into a pot and split among the winning team at the end. This fee will be paid at the trip meeting on TUESDAY 30TH APRIL, this is where you will register your team and, if you haven't already got one, meet your teammates.

On the night, bonus points will be awarded on the following basis:

1. Each team member carrying a compass, worn around their neck (+20 points)

2. Each team member wearing a head torch, you may turn it off when entering a pub (+20 points)

3. Each team member adorning a piece of climbing or paddling gear (+30 points)

4. Every member of a team drinks a beverage at a pub – proven with a photo of the receipt (double points for that pub)

5. Teams with at least 1 non-club member or member where this is their first club trip (+50 points for the first, and +30 points for next additional)

While having a good time is encouraged, going too crazy and causing problems is not.
