Requirements: You need to be a member or BSAR or considering joining BSAR.

This is a training weekend for those either already a member of BSAR or are considering joining BSAR. If you are interested in BSAR then please come and speak to me or send me an email.

BSAR is a group of volunteers that respond to search requests when someone goes missing in the bush. Being part of BSAR is a good way to help the bushwalking community and make it safer for everyone.

In recent years there have been 3-4 callouts per year. Many of the people who get lost in the bush are found successfully by BSAR volunteers without much media attention.

Being part of BSAR will also give you some experience into what can go wrong and improve you knowledge to avoid problems on your own trips
