Dear all,
Who is keen to join me on a trip down memory lane as we hike along one of Victoria’s lesser known beaches? Situated next to Wilsons Prom, Waratah Bay is a place where I spent many Summer and Easter holidays camping, swimming, surfing and fishing.
On Saturday I would like to walk from the town of Sandy Point, along the beach to Walkerville where we could set up camp at Walkerville Foreshore Camping Reserve. As we will be walking along the beach, the terrain will be extremely flat, but walking in the sand could give our calf muscles a good workout over the 15km journey. There should be plenty of time for a refreshing dip in the sea. The camping reserve is equipped with toilets, showers, free BBQs and even a small kiosk. On Sunday we would follow the same route back to the cars, and could possibly stop for a pub lunch on the way home.

Camping costs will be approximately $18-25 per person. Transport costs TBA. Because I will rely on two other drivers for the full 12-person trip to go ahead, I reserve the right to give preference to people who commit to driving.
Feel like digging your shins in the sand?
Lindsay
