Requirements: Come and enjoy yourselves!

The annual Pie and Slide Night is coming up! This outdoor photography competition is a great opportunity for all of you to show your best shots from the great and small adventures you have embarked on during the course of the year.

So go through your files and dig out those star photos you have taken!

There will be prizes for the best entries in each category.

And if you don't have any photos to show, come join us anyway, to enjoy Pies, good company and some great photographs.

When: Tuesday, October 25th, 7:00 - 10:00 PM (in place of our regular Tuesday Meeting)

Where: The Dan O'Connell Pub. (Corner Canning and Princes Streets, Carlton). http://www.thedan.com.au/

Who: Everyone from the club is invited, past and present members, and friends. Even if you don't have your own photos to enter, come laugh, cry, and awe at the amazing sights some of our members have captured over the past year.

What: Pies, beer, and of course, the Slide competition and prizes!

How do I enter in the Slide competition?

Entries are now open to the following categories. Make your photo submissions here. Video entries must be playable by VLC and will need to be handed in on a USB stick on the night.

Limit is ten photos per person, maximum 3 per category. Submissions close on Sunday October 23rd. Photos should be from the last 14 months and have not been submitted to Pie and Slide before.

Categories are:

- Club Activity:  Action photograph of a person/people doing a club activity (e.g. placing protection, skiing, cooking dinner in a snow cave, paddling a waterfall).

- Australian Landscape: Photographs in an obvious club related outdoors setting, where an activity is not necessarily the major feature (e.g. landscapes). Must be in Australia.

- Outdoors Nature:Flora and Fauna (overseas or Australian).

- Club Personality and Humour: Capture the essence of the club or one of its members in a single photograph, or a photo of a club member/event which brings a laugh.

- Overseas Landscape: Photographs in an obvious club related outdoors setting, where an activity is not necessarily the major feature (e.g. landscapes). Must not be in Australia.

- Photojournalism: Photographs that tell an interesting story. Here the capturing of the story is more important than the actual quality of the photo. Examples might include the chaos surrounding a rescue, instruction or training.

- Video: Video of no more than 3 minutes fitting into any of the photographic categories.

Depending on how many entries there are, we may not be able to show all of everyone's submissions.

Hope to see you all there,

Mona
