Australian Backcountry Festival

With a little bit of luck, we're hoping this snow season will be a success and make for a good Backcountry Festival.

This is an externally run event so you will need to sign up on their website aswell. We will  make a group chat and organise carpooling and camping for the weekend but this is considered an independent trip and everyone will be responsible for themselves for the weekend. 

What is the ABCF? Its a meeting of backcountry ski/split enjoys both new and experienced. there are workshops, ski/split tours, films, and talks spread out over the weekend. This all makes for a fantastic learning environment and just a really fun time.

We plan to camp at JB Hut which is located just outside of the Mt Hotham Resort. This campground is above the snow line so come prepared for snow camping and cold conditions, however, it is right next to the carpark so you can kind of treat it like car camping.

We'll figure out some form of car shuffle into the resort each day for the festival.
