Leaders: Luke S, Riley C
Standard: Everyone welcome
Meeting: No meeting

Let’s practice Trad Rescue Skills - these meetings are aimed to equip trad climbers with the essential rescue skills to bail themselves out of trouble (and learn the skills needed to become an ILC). Also for independent trad climbers or technical mountaineers to reinforce their rope skills.

📅 When: Wednesday 21st May (and hopefully monthly for the rest of the year)

📍 Where:  MUMC Clubrooms / 169 Berkely St

🧗 Who:  – Intermediate climbers and above - ideally you have rope skills you want to preserve/improve

Why: hang out with all the cool climbers in the club. We'll have tea, please bring small nibbles to share (maybe a cake, maybe cupcakes, maybe something from a conglomerate supermarket).

What to Expect: A low-key, collaborative evening focused on improving rope skills in a supportive setting. This is self-learning and there will be opportunity to learn with and from others

  • Bring your own rope - bring your own safety gear (ie. haul kit, pas, prussik etc) (otherwise, we’ll have some ropes available).
  • We’ll make use of the anchors on the bouldering wall
  • We’ll also make use of library resources (like Freedom of the Hills and rope technique books) and the free wifi!

If you're experienced, try out new systems and share your knowledge.
