Come for our yearly epic photo competition Pie & Slide where members showcase their photos from their amazing adventures in the past year. 

This year the venue will be at The Clyde Hotel in Carlton featuring a free show and performance by the band @antenna_music_ ! There will also be cheap pies and pints available.

There will be 3 judges who will select the winners of each category to win some amazing prizes on offer!

You can submit a maximum of 6 photos (per member) with a maximum of 3 photos per category, the link to submit the photos is below:

Submissions are open and will close on August 27th 2025 at 11:59 pm.

Entries must be from the last 14 months, and may not have been entered in Pie and Slide before.

Judges reserve the right to re-categorise photos.

Categories:

Outdoor sports: Action photograph of a person/people doing an outdoors sport (e.g. placing protection, skiing, cooking dinner in a snow cave, paddling a waterfall). Photos taken on club trips or featuring club members are preferred

Faces of the Club: Portraits of Club members, whether it be at the crag, on the trail or at an MUMC social event

Australian Landscape: Photographs in an obvious club related outdoors setting, where an activity is not necessarily the major feature (e.g. landscapes). Must be in Australia, does not have to be on a club trip

Overseas Landscape: Photographs in an obvious club related outdoors setting, where an activity is not necessarily the major feature (e.g. landscapes). Must not be in Australia

Club Personality and Humour: Capture the spirit of the club or one of its members in a single photograph, or a photo of a club member/event which brings a laugh

“How did we end up here…”: A category dedicated to those type 2 adventures, where the adventure may not have gone the way it was originally planned

Wildlife and Flora photos: From quokka selfies to the passing of wild banksia flowers on a hike, give us your best picture of wild animals or flora. Preferably in outdoors settings or on trips :)

Sexy Rocks: As the name suggests, submit your best photo of some sexy rocks ;)

Video: A wildcard category dedicated to moments caught on film. You will need to bring a usb stick with your video on the day (no longer than 4 minutes).

(BONUS) Campsite Cuisine: These photos won’t be judged, but will be a fun intermission to demonstrate your camping culinary skills!
