Requirements: High level of fitness good attitude prepared to bush bash

It’s back!

This time we are covering approximately 30km’s in 2 days gaining 2000m, we are planning to start on Walhalla road, just north of Baw Baw national park and ending on Jamieson Road, about 60km north of Licola. The track will be running along Champion Spur track toward Black river (river crossing?) where we will be camping for the night. Then from Black River, the plan is to end up at Rumpff Saddle via Mt Shillinglaw.

Plan:

Due to a very long car shuffle, the plan is to split up into two car groups and start from opposite ends, once we meet in the middle near Black River we can swap car keys then meet up on Sunday night somewhere to swap keys back. The first nights the plan is to be camping close to the cars, as we will not be getting in until around mid-night after the long drive in.

Other:

Despite the short walk (30km), there is a bit of ascending, so be mindful that there may be long days and a quicker than normal pace up hill to make most of the daylight. I do encourage beginners to come along, but make sure you have a decent level of fitness. There may also be some bush bashing/off track navigation.

Because we will be swapping keys in the middle, the trip will be limited to max 10 people including James and Myself.
