Ringed at distance by the developed tourist facilities of Kosciusko National Park is the highest peak in Australia outside the main range, Mt Jagungal.

Taking in the alpine plains over 3 nights of remote camping across the wilderness region this trip is walking on half management trails and half off track (around Happy Jacks Road) across open grassland. Exact route and campsites to be discussed at the trip meeting after everyone has spent some time looking over the maps.

Flexible with the weather on the day, various options are available ruling out any sufferfest or type 2 fun. Less than 20km and 600m elevation gain per day make it accessible for most people, but prior experience carrying your full pack weight all day long are necessary. The exposed environment and alpine climate always has a chance of snow so packs will not be light.

A 6+ hour drive each way plus permits should put transport costs around $100 per person with a full car. Payment required in advance of the trip.
