*Trip is dependent on weather conditions - more info will be sent out closer to the date once we see how it is tracking*
**Spaces will be limited based on the ability to transport kayaks there, and leader availability. If you have roof racks/tow bar or are willing to use soft racks to help transport kayaks, please put that in the sign up comments.**
***Please note that is an EOI - if you are a confirmed participant then you will be contact with details for the trip.***
The plan is to go to Lysterfield Park Lake and paddle for the day. We will be running an intro to kayaking session to teach beginner skills and wet exits for those of you that haven't done much paddling before. Complete novices welcome, but you will need to know how to swim :).
We will be going over basic kayaking skills so that you know how to safely participate in future paddling trips - however it will mean that if you haven't done it before then you will have to practise capsizing.
Gear list:
- bathers/clothes to wear in the water (No Cotton)
- wetsuit/thermals if you feel the cold (wetsuit must be hired from the clubroom beforehand if you want it)
- wetsuit boots or old shoes to wear in the water - MUST be closed toed full coverage
- hat and sunglasses
- A dry change of clothes and towel for the end of the day
- Water Bottle
- lunch and snacks
- PFD and Cag
Kayak, paddle, and spraydeck will be organised to be taken and will need to be sized at the clubrooms prior to the trip
If you have any queries then please get in touch.
Cheers
Michael
