What is intro trip?

Intro Trip is the largest trip of the year and the perfect way to get a feel for what MUMC is all about. Designed for people new to the club, it’s all about getting outdoors, trying out some classic MUMC activities, making new friends and great memories. Whether you’re brand new to outdoor adventures or just new to the club, Intro Trip is the perfect introduction.

Intro Trip is open to all students keen to explore the outdoors - both undergraduates and postgraduates. Places are limited, so be sure to sign up early to secure a spot.

What is going to happen?

This year, we’ll be heading to the Cathedral Ranges, giving us access to some of the best hiking, rock climbing and rafting Victoria has to offer. 

Friday 3PM we will head up to the Cathedral Ranges and set up camp at Ned's Gully.

On Saturday we'll split off into groups based on your preference of activities and levels of experience for a full day of fun. In the evening, everyone will meet back at the campground for a night around the campfire.

On Sunday morning, there’ll be the final activity session to choose from before we pack up and head back to Melbourne early afternoon.

Breakfast will be provided on both Saturday and Sunday, along with dinner on Saturday night.

What activities will be on offer?

You’ll have the choice between bushwalking, rock climbing (top roping), and rafting, with all activities suitable for beginners and options available across a range of difficulties so everyone can find something that matches their comfort level and experience.

Costs and logistics

Intro trip will cost $200 per participant, with early bird price at $180. Early bird price will cut off on Monday 2nd of March so make sure to get in early! the This covers two breakfasts and dinner on Saturday, tent and gear rental, the campsite fee, transport, and all other bits and bobs that you need to have a nice camp.
