Hello Runners,
Do you want to run slightly crazy distances? I do.
I'm going to be running 100km, because free will is a thing.
We will be joined by Lucy, who is yet to decide what level of crazy she wants to commit to.
This is an independent event, being externally run from the club.
I have been given a discount code by SingleTrack, so if you would like to sign up and get 20% off then pop me an email at '' and tell me about what you are planning and I will try to get back to you in a timely manner with the code, and add you to the group chat.
I recommend being a fairly experienced runner before embarking on this madness, also train. If you have completed a half marathon and currently are at a comparable mileage load then the 27km would be appropriate, the same goes for the 50km and a full marathon. Don't do what I did last year, (I ran a 50k with only 2x~20km runs for training).
Proper trail running shoes with lugs on the sole of the shoe which have been broken in and known to be suitable for challenging terrain are fitting
More information about the races, elevation, maps and mandatory gear is provided by the race organisers.
We will try to procure a car like we did last year so we can drive down on the Friday afternoon for gear check then early start on Saturday. We are unlikely to stay for the shorter distances on the Sunday.
