The mid-semester break comes early this year, and what better way to spend it than scaling cliffs in two of Australia's best climbing locations?
We're headed to the Grampians (Gariwerd) and Mt. Arapiles (Dyurrite)!
The plan at this stage is to sport climb in the Grampians for the first few days, then finish the week at Mt Arapiles, which is known primarily for its world class trad climbing (and squeeze testing, of course). There may even be opportunities for some bouldering throughout the week! We will finalise details over the coming few days.
Apologies for not getting this out earlier, but if you are not available for the whole time don't worry - you are welcome to come and go as needed!
You must be at least a Sport Independent Lead Climber (SILC) in the club's climbing framework (a minimum of an Australian lead pass and assessed anchor cleaning skills) to come on the trip, although PILCs will have more options once we get to Mt Arapiles. If you are unsure where you stand in the club's framework, send your logbook and any questions you may have to the Ropes Officer, James, at .
We will be camping, so expect to bring camping and cooking gear as well as your climbing kit (can be hired from the clubrooms).
It is sure to be an awesome and unforgettable trip!!
Also, if anyone is interested in leading the trip with me, please reach out. :))
