Trip location: Goulburn River
Trip time: Depart Sat morning, return Sat evening
Estimated trip cost: about $60-80 (including gear hire - depends on how expensive fuel gets)
Participant pre-requisites:
- You must be able to swim 50m
The plan is to drive up to the goulburn for a day of rafting, joining a group from LUMC on the river. While the Goulburn is one of the easiest rivers, it is a good chance to learn the basics of rafting before more challenging trips later in the year.
Personal gear:
- bathers/clothes to wear in the water (No Cotton)
- wetsuit/thermals if you feel the cold (wetsuit must be hired from the gear room beforehand if you want it)
- wetsuit boots or old shoes to wear in the water - MUST be closed toed full coverage
- Dry change of clothes and towel for the end of the day, and a dry pair of shoes in case you use an old pair on the water.
- Water Bottle
- Snacks (individually wrapped chocolate/snack bars are great!)
Paddling gear - must be collected from the clubrooms if you don't have a :
- pfd
- helmet
- cag
