Come for a day of sport climbing at this lesser known but excellent Cathedral Ranges sport crag!
We will likely be climbing at the Shady Side area of the Cathedral Gorge, which has an excellent range of moderate to hard sport climbing. At this stage the weather is looking good, but if that changes we have Werribee Gorge as a backup.
To come on this trip you must be at least a Sport Independent Lead Climber (SILC) within the club's climbing framework, which means having your anchor cleaning assessed by an MCI and holding a current lead pass to an Australian climbing gym. If you have any questions about where you stand in the framework, please send me an email at . Additionally, the crag has a technical, 45 minute approach, so participants must also be confident scramblers.
The plan is to meet at the clubrooms at about 7:30 am and return to Melbourne by 7 pm.
Should be a fun day of epic sending!
