This trip will be water level and weather dependent. Flow cut off will be (0.5) on the Rubicon River.
Snobs creek is a high flow aquatic canyon so requires previous canyoning skills. You should have been on a previous club canyoning trip and be an independent abseiler who is comfortable abseiling in flow. This is a joint trip with ROC (RMIT Outdoors Club) Max 8 participants. Around 4 from each club.
What to bring:
5mm wetsuit (a must!) Can be hired from the gear room
Canyoning harness & helmet if you have your own.
Snacks, water, lunch
Change of clothes & towel
Extra information
10.30am meeting at the canyon. It's about a 2.5h drive from Melbourne. Canyon should take ~3-4 hours.
We may require someone to take some gear back to Melbourne with them. Please let me know if you're able to assist with this.
If I haven't canyoned with you before, please email me your experience level
Please let me know what personnel gear you have and what you need to hire. I will have ropes, bags and harnesses with me from a training session the day before. If you need a helmet, please get from the clubrooms
I don't live in the city so will do a trip meeting via Google meet on the Thursday so please make sure you've got hire gear from the club prior to that.
