In order to become an Independent Lead Climber (ILC) in the MUMC Climbing Framework, you must show your proficiency in a number of rescue skills including:
- abseiling and ascending past a knot
- lowering a climber past a knot
- lowering in guide mode
- z-drag (3:1) and assisted hauls
To become a Sport Independent Lead Climber (SILC) in the MUMC Climbing Framework, you must demonstrate your ability to clean a variety of anchor types commonly found around Australia safely and efficiently.
I will be assessing these skills on the night at the clubrooms in the bouldering area. I will prioritise rescue skills assessments, but hopefully we should have time for both.
I won't be teaching any skills on the night due to time constraints, but there will be opportunities to learn new skills in the near future!
