What better time to get away than SWOTVAC? I need to run a trip to be ticked off as a leader, and you need to come on a three day hike at Wilsons Promontory! It hits some of the best spots of the southern circuit, so get your walking shoes on and rug up for some cold weather walking.

Campsite spots are paid and limited, so booking will be required after the Tuesday trip meeting has concluded. Participants with a car will be prioritised to allow us to get there! Bring a $50 cash deposit to the Tuesday meeting to hire any gear you need for the trip. Callum will be the leader supervising the trip, but contact me with any questions.

Extra Info and Considerations

  • While water is available at the campsites, it is required to have a water treatment method, ideally with a filter or water purification tablets (available at the chemist).
  • The weather at the prom is very variable so a rain jacket is mandatory, and overpants are recommended. Ensure that you have a warm sleep system, and if you need gear it can be organised at the trip meeting.
  • Bring enough food, but pack smart! If you need light food ideas/suggestions then we can talk about it at the trip meeting as well.
  • While the promontory has beautiful water, it'll be cold and the beaches on the southern circuits are unpredictable. As such, while dipping the toes in the water is fine by me, we’re not going to be practicing our bodysurfing while we’re there.
  • If you have any medical conditions such as anaphylaxis, injuries, other allergies or any conditions that may require management, please talk to me before the trip.
  • I will be carrying a paper map, digital GPX files, PLB for emergency contact and a first aid kit.
