Hi everyone!!

The Australian Intervarsity Rogaining Championships will be held this year on the 29th and 30th of August* in Southeast Queensland and I'm hoping to put forward a team to represent Unimelb!

In order to be eligible, you do need to be enrolled as a student (full time undergraduates get priority) and have competed in at least one rogaining event in the past 2 years.

There is a grant available through the VRA for one Victorian team. The VRA are interested in your achievements, so if you have placed highly, participated in long events, or volunteered that would be ideal! The event goes for 24 hours (but, as always, you are under no obligation to be rogaining the whole time!). Going off feedback from previous years, this event is relatively challenging.

Applications close on the 30th of June, so please email me ASAP if you're interested or have any questions! I will hold a meeting for those interested in 2 weeks, but because this is pretty short notice please contact me if you can't make it.

*This event will be held in conjunction with the Australiasian Rogaining Championships

What is rogaining?

Rogaining is the sport of distance cross-country navigation in which teams of two to five members visit as many checkpoints as possible in the specified time (usually 6 or 12 hours). It’s kind of a mix between trail running/hiking and orienteering. See here for more information: https://rogainevic.org.au/about/
