Leaders: Avryl H, Damian C (assistant leader)
Standard: Beginner
Meeting: Tue, 4 Aug 2026, 7:00 pm

We are headed to the Dandenong Ranges, a beautiful National Park just outside Melbourne. This is a beginner trip, so we will be taking it chill with many snack breaks, wandering through this stunning forest.

Track: Olinda Falls and Valley Picnic Loop, 14km and 700m elevation gain. This will probably take us around 5 hrs including breaks.

We will meet at the clubrooms at 8am, to drive out to the start of the walk, getting back to the city around 5pm.

We will stop for lunch and snacks throughout the walk, and go at a relaxed pace, so this will be a nice social day out!! Keen to see everyone there.

I am keen to get out for a chill day hike! Reach out if you are interested in leading this with me to get bushwalking trip leader experience. This is a good experience for someone who is wanting to become a bushwalking leader to plan a trip.

My plan is to choose somewhere within a couple hours of Melbourne, and about 10-15kms walking, but will wait to confirm once I see if someone wants to run this trip for experience!

We will stop for lunch and snacks throughout the walk, and go at a relaxed pace, so this will be a nice social day out!! Keen to see everyone there.
