Mitchell inter-uni paddling trip

Trip Difficulty: Beginner/Intermediate rafting, Intermediate kayaking

Trip location: Mitchell River

Trip time: Depart Friday arvo/evening, return Sunday evening (28-30th)

Estimated trip cost: about $100-150 (including activity gear hire - depends on how expensive fuel gets)

The plan is to leave Melbourne Friday evening, and drive up to the campsite at Echo Bend

On Saturday morning we will drive up to Angusvale, and paddle down to near camp, before running continuing downriver Sunday.

If you want to go on this trip you will have to have attended one of the Intro to kayaking sessions or have equivalent knowledge (how to perform a wet exit at minimum), be able to swim at least 50m in strong currents, and have previous whitewater experience. We plan to take a mix of rafts and kayaks, with more experienced paddlers being in the kayaks, and less experienced in the rafts.
