Gariwerd Women, Transgender and Non-Binary People’s Sport Climbing Trip

Hi all!! We are headed up to Gariwerd (Grampians) for a weekend of climbing, community and comradery! 

This trip is for all people under the transgender umbrella, women and any other people of marginalised genders within the outdoors space.  Whether you are new to outdoor climbing or lead climbing, or someone who is a mega crusher there is a place for you in the group! This will be a fantastic opportunity building your comfort climbing in a supportive group.

We will drive up Friday night, camping at Mt Stapylton for the weekend and climbing at some of the Northern crags. We will choose crags with a range of climbing grades from 16-mid 20s to ensure everyone has something good to climb!!  Looking at The Ravine, West Flank, I Forget Walls, Sentinel and Sentinel Cave. 

If we have a enough ILC’s on the trip we may split between different crags if people have a project they want to head to! 

If you have been on club climbing trips before and are ticked off in the frameworks, then you can contact me (Avryl) and will not have to attend the meeting on Tuesday. If you need to hire any gear (helmet/harness/draws etc) then you will need to come to the meeting and bring a $50 CASH deposit. 

If you are not yet checked off in the climbing framework you may still be able to attend this trip! To get ticked off as a sport climber, you will need to demonstrate your ability to clean the common sport climbing anchors found in Australia, to get assessed and for videos to practice contact James at . If you have a lead pass for an Australian climbing gym you will be able to get ticked off as a seconder to belay lead climbers and top rope their climbs.
