If you already know how to trad climb, but want to learn or revise some rescue skills needed to be an Independent Lead Climber (ILC) come along to the bouldering area anytime from 5pm-7pm.

This session is intended to build on the Rescue Skill learning night from the earlier week. We will quickly go over the previous skills we learnt or revised quickly including:

  • Tying off a tube belay device (atc)
  • Lowering in guide mode
  •  Z-drag (3:1) and assisted hauls

We will then spend the majority the time going through:

  1. Abseiling past a knot
  2. Ascending past a knot
  3. Lowering a climber past a knot

Climbers who have some experience with rescue skills or don't mind skipping over some skills are welcome to come even if they haven't come to the last week's session.
