Bushwalking/Bikepacking Leader Training

Considering becoming a bushwalking or bikepacking leader? Want to run your own trips and learn some skills for being a leader in other sports? Come along to the leadership training night to find out what it's all about!

Who is this session for?

a) Those with some hiking experience who would like to lead their own trips with MUMC.

b) Prospective leaders on their leadership journey who haven't attended a training yet.

c) Current leaders who want to brush up on their knowledge.

d) Anyone wanting to upskill or to gain an understanding of what goes into being a bushwalking leader.

We will be covering:

>What a trip leader is + our club processes

>How to plan a great trip

>Safety (Duty of care, incident reporting and emergency management)

>Environmental conservation

>Leadership theory, techniques and discussion

>Welfare Information

If you're interested in becoming a leader but don't know if you have the experience required, don't hesitate to reach out! There are many leadership options available and pathways to build the skills required.

*N.B. This interactive session is a compulsory component of the bushwalking leadership process and generally runs once/semester.
