*Trip is dependent on weather conditions - more info will communicated by email before the trip*

**Spaces will be limited based on the ability to transport kayaks there, and leader availability. If you have roof racks/tow bar or are willing to use soft racks to help transport kayaks, please put that in the sign up comments.**

If you want to go on this trip, you must have attended one of the Intro to kayaking/pool sessions or have equivalent knowledge (how to perform a wet exit, basic paddlestrokes, assisted recoveries etc at minimum), and be able to swim at least 50m in strong currents.

The plan is to do a quick lap at Warrandyte on Saturday morning. We will head to Lower Homestead to put on the water and paddle downstream, before taking out at Wittons Reserve ramp. We will be meeting at the clubrooms early in the morning, most likely 8am but TBD, and will aim to be back at the clubrooms early to mid afternoon.

Car pooling will be arranged by the trip leader, you will be notified of this a few days before the trip.

Personal gear:

  • Bathers/clothes to wear in the water (no cotton)
  • Wetsuit/thermals if you feel the cold (wetsuit must be hired from the gear room beforehand if you want it)
  • Wetsuit boots or old shoes to wear in the water - MUST be closed toed full coverage
  • Dry change of clothes and towel for the end of the day, and a dry pair of shoes in case you use an old pair on the water.
  • Water Bottle
