Requirements: - bathers, thermals or wetsuits (wetsuits can be hired from the boat shed), water shoes (that will get wet and dirty) - can swim!

Long hot days are finished up best with a paddle down the Yarra. Excellent way to build up skills and see what this 'kayaking' business is all about.

Leaving from the boat sheds between 4pm and 5pm (dependent on peoples schedules) you can expect to be home sometime after dark, 10pm ish.

Paddling on the Yarra River, up near Warrandyte is an excellent introduction to Whitewater Paddling. A few gentle rapids to introduce you to the sport, with some flatwater sections in between to practice skills. With beautful scenery in the fading light, even kangaroos and koalas some days its hard to believe your less than an hours drive from Melbourne.
