Canyoning- Sabine Falls- Otway

Canyoning at Mt Sabine, Otways. Approx 2-2.5 hours from Melbourne. 

Ben Hazell from MUMC and Lauren Hayes from ROC and will be leading the day. Limited spots avaiable as joint ROC / MUMC trip.

Time: 10am meeting time at Sabine Falls Picnic Car Park. If possible please carpool, Lauren and I will be coming from a different direction so plan to meet you all at the carpark.I will set up a whatsapp chat once group members are confirmed to help co-ordinate.

Hopefully we finish the canyon in good time and can get a beer at the Forrest Brewery on the way home.

This trip is suitable for beginner or intermediate canyoners already checked off, been on previous MUMC Canyoning trips, people who completed the canyoning course last year (X3 sessions), or the Intro to Canyoning day trip earlier this year at Britannia Creek. It is not suitable for first time canyoners.

Gear Available for Hire from MUMC Clubrooms ($50 deposit):

-Harness (complete set up with descender and Cowstails/PAS) ($15)

-Wetsuit ($10)

-Helmet ($5)

-Cag ($10)

You must bring (either personal or hired)

-5mm wetsuit or 3mm wetsuit with multiple thermals. (Wetsuits can be hired from the gear room)

-No Cotton clothing in Canyon

-Grippy shoes (trail runners are ideal- avoid bulky hiking boots) paired with wool socks or neoprene socks 

-change of clothes

-water, lunch & snacks

-Gloves are recommended (gardening gloves, neoprene gloves or belay gloves)
