CONSERVATION - Project Hindmarsh Community Planting Weekend

Tree Planting in the Little Desert. (Note: Signups close June 22)

Project Hindmarsh is a large annual community planting weekend in the Little Desert, near Nhill.

There are buses running from Southern Cross to Little Desert Nature Lodge, leaving at 9:00am or 2:00pm on Friday. They will return you to Melbourne by 6:00pm on Sunday. There is a charge for the bus ($30 return), but it is necessary to pay by June 22 to secure a place. It is possible to drive if you wish, but it is still necessary to register by the same date.

Hence the trip meeting will take place at 7:30pm on June 19. Registration details will be provided at this meeting and it will be up to you to personally register. A second trip meeting will take place on August 14 at 7:30pm for those already registered.

Accomodation is at Little Desert Nature Lodge, and as we will be camping it is free. All meals from Saturday breakfast to Sunday lunch are provided. It is necessary to bring something for yourself for Friday evening dinner, there are BBQs provided.

On Saturday evening there is entertainment including a band. There is a no-BYO policy, but there is a bar so bring some money if you so wish.
