Requirements: Must have been away on overnight walks before and capable to walk in steep sections involving water crossings, slippery track surfaces, rock hopping and rock scrambling. Please speak with me beforehand if you're not sure. Also everyone needs to be a member of MUMC before the trip. Trip meeting is mandatory.

Hey hikers,

I'm planning to go to the Grampians for the weekend of June 22-24, leaving Melbourne on Friday evening after work and returning on Sunday late evening.

My plan is to walk in the Northern Grampians, camp two nights at Stapylton Campground and walk with day packs during Saturday and Sunday.

Suggested major walks are Mt Stapylton loop which is a 12.2km (graded hard) circuit walk, will take around 5-6 hours ... and Mt Difficult which is 8.8km (graded hard) return walk. If time is allowing us, we'll do some shorter walks too around the campground or a short drive away. Mt Difficult offers some of the finest views in the Northern Grampians so hopefully the weather will be with us during the trip.

Please note that both walks can/will involve water crossings, slippery track surfaces, rock hopping and rock scrambling.

Group size for the trip is limited to 10 people. A camping fee applies to all campgrounds and each permit allows up to six people and one vehicle at a site - so please sign up for the trip and I'll come back to you with the camping fee details via email before the trip.

To bring:camping gear, daypack with lunch, snacks, food for the weekend, some water for the drive up on Friday. Also bring rain gear (jacket and overpants), good sturdy hiking boots, gaiters, gloves and beanie as the temperature can drop.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me on my email

Trip meeting will be on Tuesday, 19th of June at 7.10pm at the club rooms

See ya, Ingrid
