Requirements: Experienced bushwalker. Gear requirements as above.

This trip will be in the last week of the winter break. All campsites are near a hut but if huts are full sleeping in tents may be required. There will always be at least one toilet per day. Most of this walk will be above the snowline, with one, maybe two, descents below. Expect cold days not getting above freezing and nights up to -10.

Snowshoes, snow tents and winter gear is a requirement.

I do not feel comfortable with a group much larger than 7.  

When

16th – Car shuffle Mountain Creek and North-West Spur. Hike up to MUMC hut (7km) or push on to Federation Hut if it is still light. (+2km)
17th – Walk along the razorback to Diamantina hut for lunch (2+9km). Walk past Mt Hotham to Derrick hut (6km) or down Swindlers Spur to Dibbin hut (+4km)
18th – Walk past Dibbin Hut (4km). Climb onto the Bogong high plains and walk past Mt Jim to Cope Hut (14km)
19th – Rest day
20th  Follow the Aqueduct along the edge of the high plains all the way to Roper hut (16km)
21st – Descend down to big river (4km) and stop there for lunch. Then climb up to the Mt Bogong plateau (7.5km) to Cleve Cole Hut
22nd Climb up Mt Bogong and descend down the Staircase (8.5km) Two people can descend ahead and start the car shuffle if need be. Drive Home.
 
The rest day can be moved around according to the weather.

I will be taking a first aid kit, map, compass, mapping gps and fire starters.
I have a shellite stove and would be happy to share.
