Overnight XC Skiing out of Falls Creek - changed, maybe a day trip closer

Requirements: Have gone cross country before, ideally with an overnight pack. Have gone snow camping before or are desperate to give it a go.

EDIT: So work is trying to demand that I work on Sunday, so the whole weekend would not work for me. There is already another trip going up that way, so i suggest go on that, and if there is interest, i could potentially run a day trip on Friday or Saturday.



So plan needs to fleshed out and open to alternatives, however the general idea is:

Friday: arvo drive up and camp at Mountain Creek Picnic area. (Start of the Staircase spur to bogong)(or another free camp down in the valley)

Saturday: Drive up early to Falls Creek and set off skiing with packs.
Aim for a hut say 15km out, so that we can still do a bit of exploring. Camp in the snow and just use the hut for shelter to cook etc if the weather turns particularily nasty.

Sunday: Ski back and drive home

It is suitable only for those who have cross country skiied before and are confident, as carrying a full pack on skis can be quite difficult. We will venture off groomed trails as well.
