Northern Grampians

Requirements: Only sign up if you are committed to coming as accommodation space is limited (or be willing to organise your own accommodation). You must be signed up before the trip meeting. Payment for cabin accommodation is required at the trip meeting. Need to bring bed sheets or a sleeping bag, and a towel.

Be comfortable with an 11-12km walk with steep and scrambly sections.

Be independent in organising your own gear (day pack, walking boots, waterproofs etc.)

Be independent in organising your own food for breakfasts and lunches. We would likely organise to cook together on the Saturday night.

A weekend of walking, climbing and horse riding in the Northern Grampians, staying in some cosy cabins....

Setting off.... after work on Friday evening, returning Sunday afternoon.

Staying.... at Mount Zero Log Cabins (approx $25 per person per night, basic but comfy accommodation).  Currently two cabins are reserved, accommodating 12 people.  As space is limited only sign up if you are certain you can come on the trip, will attend the trip meeting and can pay for the cabins at the trip meeting.  Only people signed up on this webpage before the trip meeting can attend the trip. Saturday.... I plan to organise day walk, likely up to Briggs Bluff, distance 11km, time approx 5 hours, grade hard (due to some steep scrambly sections), highpoint of lovely views over the grampians and exposed granite boulders. Sunday... option of horse riding / walking / bouldering / climbing.  Reilly is planning a walk and or some scrambling / bouldering.  Anthony will likely be doing some climbing or bouldering.  I plan to go horse riding on Sunday morning at Grampians Horse Riding (http://www.grampianshorseriding.com.au/), you are welcome to join me but note this is independant of MUMC and you should be able to trot.  Ofcourse you can organise your own activity too if there's something else you fancy! More details closer to the time depending on who is interested in the trip.
