Requirements: Both Eskdale and Staircase spur are a strenuous climb. One from 600m the other from 1000m ASL. There will still be quite a bit of snow on the mountain so snow equipment will be needed. Please bring enough money for the driver and for meals.

Snowshoes Snow tent Proper winter sleeping bag Waterproof uppers and lowers Lots of warm clothes (non cotton) Decent hiking shoes Decent stove Check the weather the day before and pack for worse than you will be expecting. http://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/Mount-Bogong/forecasts/1986

Meals: 2x Breakfast 2x Lunch 1x Dinner Plenty of snacks.

Get a chance to enjoy the end of a great winter. Spend  one night on the roof of victoria and (hopefully) enjoy a great morning's sunrise.

The plan is:

Friday: Meet at the clubroom at 6pm. Drive to Mountain Creek Campsite. Stop somewhere for dinner on the way.

Saturday: Breakfast, then head up Eskdale or Staircase spur. Lunch at the halfway hut. Last water and toilet until lunch the next day. Afterwards, we will summit and set up camp near the cairn. (Depending on conditions)

Possible afternoon activities include a Cleve Cole Hut sidetrip or igloo building. Hopefully there will be a great sunset (18:17) to top it all off.

Sunday: Wake up to see the sunrise (5:39) then have a relaxing breakfast and walk down. The aim is to reach the car by 15:00 for an easier drive home. Dinner will be eaten somewhere on the way home.
