Requirements: Alpine weather can turn unexpectedly so please bring rain gear, warm clothes and something for if it's actually hot. The exposed camp on Saturday needs a mountaineering tent properly tied down. The club gearstore has Hilleberg tents and Goretex jackets for hire. Contact Mel or Jesse for a full gear list.

For a relaxed weekend with spectacular scenery and wildflowers galore we're heading up to the alpine national park but instead of an epic slog up a gnarly hill we're going to drive to the top and walk out along the plateau amongst the brumbys.

Departing around 6pm Friday, drive to Pretty Valley pondage in the Falls Creek ski resort (5hours+ drive). A short (45min-1hr) walk along an easy fire trail to Tawonga huts which has a toilet, some historic huts and good drinking water from the stream. We will pitch tents for the night - it will be a late night but with this many people we won't be able to sleep in the huts.

Saturday bout 10ish, we head up a gentle incline to Fainter South (3-4 hours walk) and set up camp in the saddle next to the summit.  There is a 360 view including Mt Feathertop and the mumc hut from Fainter South.

On Sunday we walk back to Tawonga huts for a swim if it's sunny and then back to the cars and drive home with a stop for dinner.

If you can't make the trip meeting please contact Mel or Jesse by phone or email before the Tuesday night so we can include you in the trip planning.

Please note - Further sign-ups are only available for those who attended the trip meeting on Tuesday 13 November. Please don't sign up if you weren't at the trip meeting, as your sign-up will be deleted.

Thanks :)
