Festive Feathertop

Requirements: Alpine weather can turn unexpectedly so please bring rain gear and warm clothes as well as hat, sunnies, long sleeved shirt and sunscreen in case it's hot. Full gear list available from Mel or Jesse.

Kick start the silly season with a fun-filled trip to Mt Feathertop. A leisurely walk to the MUMC hut via the Razorback Ridge and the best looking peak in Victoria. Great views and a break from the maddening crowd.

Departing Melbourne at 6pm Friday night, we'll drive up the Hume and then to Mt Hotham, arriving late to sleep in the Diamantina Hut. Up early, we'll walk via the Razorback, with side trips to Federation Hut and Mt Feathertop itself. We'll then continue on to the MUMC hut on the north west spur.

Saturday afternoon and evening we'll hang out, eat some good food and enjoy each other's company. Sleeping in the hut means you don't have to bring a tent... and may be quite cosy depending on numbers!

Sunday morning we'll head back to the cars after a late start or a dawn summit trip depending on your preference. Drive back to Melb with a stop on the way for food and drinks.
