Requirements: Overnight camping, pack-carrying and fast-long-distance walking experience recommended.

A fast and fun weekend hike over the southern section of Wilsons Promontory National Park.

Probably walking from Tidal River to Little Waterloo Bay via Oberon Bay (return on Sunday).
+ Tidal River to Oberon Bay - 7.6 km, 2.5 hours
+ Oberon Bay to Telegraph Junction - 3.4 km, 1 hour
+ Telegraph Junction to Little Waterloo Bay camp - 5.8 km, 2 hours
= Total (rough-guide only):  17 km, 5.5 hours (one way)
(This includes some beautiful coast and cliffs.)
(Specific plans may change due to weather, bushfire conditions, people who join, park conditions, park permits, overambitiousness, etc.)
Starting out early on Saturday 23nd.
Please check back for more details closer to the date or discuss the trip with me at any Tuesday club meeting. I am happy for the route or plans to change based on feedback from those interested in joining the trip.
Maximum sign-ups: 19 people.
PS:
I might (or might not) inject some fun, hippie-philosophy, and character into this walk along the lines of: only basic equipment, no luxuries, no pre-packaged or processed food, no cameras, and limited alcohol.
I might encourage some team-spirit and reduce pack-weight by highly coordinating the sharing of resources such as tents, tarps, rope, cooking equipment, food, comms, and first-aid supplies. For the walk, everyone should have some spare room in their pack to take weight from struggling / slower / beginner walkers. We will all prepare a big, shared meal (w. veg option).
I will also be encouraging (...requiring) the group to keep closely together while walking for: safety, pace-control, facilitating rapid en-route decisions (ie related to changing weather conditions and group fitness) and just because I believe its more social and team-spirited!
