We will head up to Lake Mountain for a relaxed daywalk.

The plan is to walk about 11km on the trails at Lake Mountain. It is 120km NE of Melbourne. This trip is open to beginners. We will be taking it pretty easy.

Lake Mountain is a winter cross-country skiing area, but in the summer the trails are open for bushwalking. We will be walking along some of these trails, through snowgum woodland in the Yarra Ranges National Park. We will walk to the highest point (1480m) on the Lake Mountain plateau and return by a different trail. However there will not be much climbing, as the plateau is fairly flat since it is suitable for cross-country skiing. There are several lookouts along the way.

Bring lunch, water, sunscreen, hat, approx $15 for car costs, and some money to stop for beer/ice cream/bakery on the way home.

Any questions, come to the trip meeting on Tuesday or email
