Requirements: Enthusiasm and a couple of indoor climbing trips.

I've just been handed a new Grampians Climbing guidebook, which has made me aware of just how few climbs I've done out there. So it's time to go and climb some of the best rock in Australia.

Depending on interest, the trip can be run as both a 4-day and a 2-day trip, though this depends on available drivers. There will be a maximum of 4 beginners per trip leader.

Who?

You, if you're interested. You will need to have been indoor climbing at least twice, so that you understand the basic principles. Have a chat to someone on a Tuesday night about when people are going. You will also need to be willing to think for yourself, this isn't a school camp. Preference will be given to those that have previously expressed interest in climbing (preferably by action). If you're an independent climber, you'll be expected to help out.

What?

Climbing and daywalks. This will rely on the beginner climbers being willing to organise a daywalk or two for themselves. The current plan is for a day of toproping and a day of bouldering and/or toproping, with the other two days being independent: those that know how can go climbing again, you can hike up Mount Stapylton or Hollow Mountain, or lie about in a hammock and watch kangaroos all day.

Where?

The Grampians: about 3 hours West of Melbourne. We'll stay in Stapylton campground, in the North of the National Park.

How much?

You will need to pay for gear hire, petrol/maintenance, food, and camp fees.
