2 Day Desert Hike - Final Destination chosen

We’re really keen to explore some of the desert regions on Northwest Victoria.

We will be doing a hike in Wyperfeld National Park. We’ll be leaving Melbourne Friday at 6pm, with a 5 to 5.5hr trip and camping at Wonga campground.

Walk starts at Wonga campground and follows the Black flat track past Weedy Lack (little black flats), then meridian track all the way to Remote Camp, it will be 16-17km. Sunday we will take the 4WD drive track half way back until the intersection with Ginap Track at which point we will navigate to Lake Brambruk (about 2km off track nav), then take a walking track back to Wonga campground, Sunday will be 16km.

It will be a tough walk as we will have to carry water for the whole trip (2 days), so this will be 4L extra. We’ll also be making sure everyone is really lightweight, sharing stoves and cooking, only taking two stoves would be good and we will all be sleeping under a tarp rather than a tent.

Transport will be with my (Dani's) van, so limit is strictly 8, this number is also important for safety.
