Are you itching to get out of the city this weekend? Come explore Mt. Juliet!  Just past Healsville, the summit features a large cairn built in the late 1800s to mark a survey point from the original Geodetic Survey of Victoria.

While this walk will be relatively short, aproximately 13km round trip, it will be quite steep, gaining 900m in altitude over 4.5 kms, and may or may not yield views when we reach the summit.

Here are a few descriptions I found of the start of the walk:

It seems that no one has written about the walk to the summit recently, so if someone is keen, perhaps you can write up an article for the next Mountaineer.

If you missed the trip meeting on Tuseday, send me an email @ and we'll see if we can sort something out. We are limited in numbers by car spaces available.
