Requirements: Good sturdy boots, gaiters, thermals, waterproofs and optional walking poles if you have any.

Hey walkers,

I'm planning to walk this gorgeous walk from Lorne via Erskine Falls following the river up to Erskine Falls and back down to Lorne via Phantom Falls. There will be many many creek crossings on the second half of the walk so please be mindful of this. You need to have good sturdy boots and if you have walking poles that will help you across the creek if the water is high.

When:  Saturday 25th of May

Walk Start time: Meet at 8:30am for 8:45am start, - need time as sun is setting earlier and earlier now and we don't want to walk with headtorches. Lorne is roughly 1.5 hours drive from Melbourne so you'll need to get up early for this daywalk.

Starting Point – Lorne – meeting point to be advised at trip meeting

What to bring: Good sturdy walking boots, gaiters as the trail can become muddy and there are many creek crossings, capacity to carry 2 litres of water, lunch, snacks, thermals, rain jacket, overpants and headtorch.

Grade: Difficult (i.e. Grade 2)

Distance: 20km circuit – 5/6hrs of walking with minimal breaks

Total climbing: 425m, pretty much the first 7.5km are uphill, the 2nd half a bit downhill

Trip meeting: 21th of May at 7:10pm at the club rooms

All levels of walkers are welcome ... as long as you're comfortable with crossing the creek many times and have good boots :)

Hope to see you, Ingrid (you can reach me on ingrideftodi@g m a i l . com
