Requirements: Experienced bushwalker, equipped for cold (potentially down to -5C) temperatures.

So I have this weekend free, there appears to be a fair bit of snow and I want to do a recon of the Fainters for a more serious ski trip in the middle of the season.

Park at either Bogong Village or Big Hill lookout on the way up to Falls Creek, camp somewhere near there and then hike/snowshoe up to the Fainters on Saturday. Snow play/ski Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning (camping on the summit or in a sheltered area depending on conditions) before heading back the same way. I may be taking skis depending on how much snow falls in the next week but snow shoes (hire from club) will be fine.

The weather probably won't be fantastic and it will be cold so you need at least some experience at bushwalking and to be equipped for snow camping. The club has suitable tents and sleeping bags if necessary as well as snow shoes available for hire. There will probably be some fairly intense navigation so I want to do this with a fairly small fast moving group so trip will be limited to max of 8 people/two cars.
