A hike up the impressive Mt Bogong via the Staircase Spur. The route itself is quite steep, but you are rewarded with great views from the highest peak in Victoria.

It will be a beginner level overnight bushwalk and participants will need a moderate level of fitness.

This hike was my first overnight hike with the club exactly 2 years ago (see photo)!

Numbers will be dependent on the number of cars and trip leaders.

Rough Itinerary:

Camp Mountain Creek Friday night. Walk up the Staircase on Saturday and we'll camp by the Cleve Cole hut, a glorious stone building in a sheltered area below the tree line. A little further on is a waterfall that we can visit on a side trip.

Descend via Eskadale Spur or the Staircase on Sunday, get ice cream and return to Melbourne.

Trip meeting on the Tuesday before is a must if you want to attend. It is always worth signing up as many don't turn up to the meeting.

Please email me at if you have any questions.
