Would you like to learn night navigation techniques, or polish the skills you already have? Come to the VRA Training Night and get tuition from the experts. There are no fees or costs.

Note this is a VRA event (ie not MUMC run), the MUMC event is simply to help people get there etc. Details below.

Details from the VRA website
Time: 4:30pm – 10.00 pm (meet at 4:15 pm) in Springhilll (1-1.5 hour drive North of Melbourne). Camping sites are available.
What to bring: Daypack, snacks, water, a compass if you have one and a mug. You will need a head torch. Come dressed appropriately for the weather (remember it can get very cold at night) and wear sturdy footwear.
Program: Some prior experience of navigation in the bush is desirable but not essential. We will concentrate on night navigation techniques such as pace counting, following compass bearings at night and use of attack points.

Refreshments: Hot soup, tea, coffee and some food will be available afterwards in a warm environment.

Care to share your skills? Trainers required. Please let Heather or Roy know if you can help.

PLEASE NOTE: Although there are no fees for this event, if you drive up with MUMC people you will (as always) have to chip in for petrol and car maintenance.
