Requirements: Be able to walk

Trips only run when people think of something they'd like to do and then organise it, so without leaders trips don't happen. The main purpose of this trip is to encourage participants to be able to lead bushwalking trips so we get more running, however it is also open to anyone so if you'd like to go hiking for the weekend come along. I might need to set a participant number if there are too many keen hikers.

The plan is to hike into Lake Tali Karng which is the highest natural lake in Victoria. We will drive up to the Wellington Plain on Friday night or early Saturday and we can either walk down to the lake from the plateau or park in the valley and walk up to the lake along the river valley (depending upon water levels). If we get enough people (and cars) we could do a car shuffle and walk in via the plateau and out via the river valley making the whole walk downhill.

We'll camp Saturday night either above or below the lake (the local indigenous people request no camping at the lake) and hike out on Sunday returning to Melbourne in the evening.
