Wilson's Prom

Requirements: Able to walk at a decent pace and with a pack

Hi all!

Sarah and I are running a bushwalking trip to Wilson's Prom leaving at 6pm on Fri 8th November and returning on the Sunday evening, 10th November.

The plan is to meet at the club at 6pm on Friday.  Drive to the Prom (app. 3hrs) stopping for dinner on the way.  Then park in Tidal River and hike to Oberon bay that night (app. 2.5 hours, 7.6km) where we will camp.  The next day will be a big day of hiking, going from Oberon Bay to Refuge Cove which will be our campsite for the 2nd night (app. 6 hours, 16.2km).  On the Sunday we will hike back to Tidal River via Sealers Cove, thus completing the loop (app. 5 hours, 16.6km).

We will be covering a lot of distance over this trip but the good news is it isn't majorly hilly.  We will need to try and pack as light as possible.  Food and water will have to be carried.   In terms of requirements, it is recommended you have previous hiking experience and ideally have done an overnight hike before as we will need to walk at a decent pace to make each campsite.  Depending on the weather, you may also want to swim.
