I'm planning to do some shortish walks this weekend near Omeo while the kayakers are busy paddling the Mitta Mitta river. Depending on the weather and what people feel like doing, here are a few options:
Mount Wills (6 km return from the Omeo Highway) The rocky granite summit offers stunning alpine scenery among Snow Gums and fragrant herbfields.
Mount Welcome (8 km with a 625m elevation change) Follows the mountain ridge offering spectacular views of the valley below when you reach the summit.
River & Deep Gully walks along the Mitta Mitta or the historic Victoria Falls and the Oriental Claims.

We will be camping Friday and Saturday night with some kayakers from MUMC (campsite TBA). More details announced at/after the meeting Tuesday.
